More about SpeechEasy here which costs £3050 as of today (I know it's expensive!) which helps you achieve greater fluency and reduce stammering.
How?
Access To Work Scheme of UK Government potentially can approve your application to get fund for the costs of your application and it often pays at least 70% of the cost.
If you're employed, your employ would often pay the remaining 30%.
So you can get 100% fund for the device in my experience.
Access to Work Scheme?
I have been to many speech therapy courses and met many people who stammer; I don't think many people know this...
Stammering is considered as a disability by law and UK government has a scheme to fund devices needed for disabled people.
You just need to contact the JobCentre Plus, fill in their application form, provide the documents needed and follow the process. It would take less than 2 months for this process and until the fund (usually 70%) is approved.
Then it would take less than a month from when you order the device and you receive it. Capital Audiology is the current reseller of the device in London.
What about you?
If you live in UK and start the process right now, you probably can get the device in less than 3 months time. Start now because tomorrow maybe this scheme disappears, who knows!
If you don't live in UK, you need to ask your government to find out whether such scheme exists or looking at other possible options. But keep looking, there is always a way which can help you.
Good luck!
