How long can you try hiding your stammering? Why are you ashamed of your stammering? Is your stammering something hideable at all?
Self advertising simply means you talk about your stammer openly to the other person. Indeed, you accept yourself as you are and you become confident about who you are. You can ask the other person to wait for you when you speak and this helps both you and the other person.
You are amazing, you are so brave, you are so different from others; you know you have a problem and you are so brave to acknowledge and manage it.
Why?
Why?
- It helps you become desensitized
- It reduces the pressure by giving you permission to stammer
- It reduces the fear of stammering
- It helps the other person to know what to expect so that person won't get surprised
- It creates a stutter-friendly environment so that the techniques can be practiced by the PWS
- You will show that you're confident and are not ashamed of your stammer
- It shows that you are assertive
As a result, it helps have a better communication, both you and the listener will feel better.
How?

079150.....: (note: I have a mild stammer, which sometimes means that when you phone me there is a short pause)
