Develop and Train Your Voice

As a PWS, you have the responsibility to develop your voice and strengthen your vocal system and voice box.

The steps you need to take are:

1. Identify techniques and strategies
2. Specify time to practice those techniques e.g. 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes at night
3. Do the practice and review/refine them
4. Continue learning new things about how to develop your voice

This would unleash your vocal power and helps you have more fluency. I found this absolutely helpful.

Voice Development Techniques:

The Humming Bee Breath (3 minutes)
  1. Sit straight with your chest open - on a chair, edge of your bed or on the floor
  2. Close your ears with you fingers
  3. Inhale slowly and deeply through nose
  4. Exhale slowly and say Hummm; while exhaling feel the vibration on your throat, body and voice box
  5. Repeat 20 times
Do this every morning and every night

Benefits:
It improves concentration and releases stress from your voice box. It calms your nerves and provides an overall sense of well-being.

Lions Pose (3 minutes)
  1. Sit like a lion; look at the video provided
  2. Close the mouth
  3. Inhale slowly and deeply through the nose
  4. Open the mouth and extend the tongue out as far as possible towards the chin
  5. Exhale slowly and produce a clear and steady sound of "aaaaaaah" (lion roaring) from the throat - keep the mouth wide open
  6. Concentrate on the vibration - move the tongue from one side to the other
  7. At the end of exhalation, close the mouth and breathe in and repeat
  8. Repeat this 20 rounds
Do this every morning and night.

Benefits:
It removes the tension in the throat area. It improves your speech mechanism. One of the best techniques which helps develop a strong and beautiful voice.
